About the project

The Green Missions Foundation is working with Mercy and Justice Energy Services to support Healthcare in Haiti Inc. and the Bethesda Medical Center to fund the construction of a new solar array for the Medical Center.

Why it’s Important

The Bethesda Medical Center is currently reliant on diesel generators for daily operations. This has large consequences for the Medical Center as fuel becomes harder to source and more costly to purchase. If the generators do not have fuel, the Medical Center cannot operate.

To overcome these challenges and ensure Bethesda Medical Center stays operational in times of hardship, the new 178kWh solar array and 90kWh of battery storage will make the campus energy independent from liquid fuel and keep the doors open to serve the community daily.
